Summary:
This position is responsible for serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages on the golf course while providing high-quality food and beverage experiences to all guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
Shifts include regular play, golf outings and other scheduled events (i.
e.
, Foot Golf).
Will also be expected to work in other Food & Beverage positions including Bartender, Banquet Bartender, and Banquet Server.
Hours of Work Work hours vary based on the scheduled or contracted events and include weekday and weekend hours including daytime, afternoon and evening hours.
Dependability and flexibility with work availability is required.
Hours typically range from 3pm - 7pm on weekdays and 9am - 6pm on weekends weather permitting.
Essential Job Functions Reports to work on time for each shift with a professional appearance and in full uniform Greets all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting Confirms the beverage cart is fully operational before starting rounds on the golf course Sets up, stocks/restocks and cleans the beverage cart throughout the day Utilizes the Point of Sale system and Square and creates daily sales reports Serves drink orders to customers and collects payment for items served Maintains and exhibits proper golf course etiquette Provides a proper food and beverage experience by fulfilling customers' needs Reviews calendar of events and schedules for club activities and changes on a daily basis Communicates any problems, concerns or special needs from guests to the Manager on Duty Performs basic cleaning tasks as needed or as directed by the Manager on Duty Complies with the standards set by Basset program declining to serve alcoholic beverages to persons who are, or appear to be, intoxicated Works as a team member and follows the directives of the Head Banquet Server On occasion will be scheduled as a Bartender where you will be responsible for preparing, mixing and serving drinks and beverages correctly to either customers directly or through serving staff.
On occasion will be scheduled as a Banquet server where you will be responsible for the distribution of assorted beverages and alcoholic drinks, meals, condiments and appetizers Attends work on a regular basis Performs the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies, procedures, work and safety rules, and the Employee Personnel Policy Manual Maintains a clean and organized work environment Other Job Functions Monitors and restocks beverage cart and cooler inventory.
Wipes down beverage cart, equipment and take out all trash/bottles at the end of each shift.
Helps server staff as needed Moves tables, chairs and other furniture as required Maintains a positive professional interaction and cooperation with Park District staff, the public and Facility patrons.
Perform the job in compliance with Park District policies.
Requirements of Work A minimum age of 21 is required for this position High school graduate or GED Certificate One to two years' food service experience Valid BASSETT certification or must be able to obtain within 14 days of hire Valid Food Handler's certification or must be able to obtain within 14 days of hire Necessary Special Requirements Valid Driver's License First Aid/CPR/AED certification required within 3 months of hire Knowledge Of Wines, beers, liquor, restaurant menu, specials, pricing and availability of items Applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures Food and beverage and bartending service standards Food service and sanitation and safety regulations Food and beverage products and the restaurant and/or banquet industry Ability To Provide a high level of customer service to all guests in a friendly, courteous manner Follow all bartender/server guidelines and processes Accurately handle and account for all payments including cash, credit cards and debit cards Identify and manage guests who are or who appear to be overserved Respond to inquiries and requests from the general public Follow directions and communicate in English verbally and in writing Work flexible schedules and shifts, as assigned Follow the directives of the Food and Beverage Operations Manager and the Manager on Duty Manage work time effectively and efficiently Maintain self-control and composure in difficult situations Skill In Customer service and interpersonal communication Working with the general public Basic math computation using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Teamwork and promoting positive work relationships with coworkers and supervisors Point of Sale and Square systems Work Location Salt Creek Golf Club, 1051 Prospect Ave.
