3 Wood Dale, IL Wood Dale, IL Full-time Full-time $23 - $30 an hour $23 - $30 an hour 12 days ago 12 days ago 12 days ago Job Description The Payroll Specialist will work within the accounting department to ensure that all employees including field and office are paid according to ReThink Electrics standard payroll policies, including payroll for employees with different employment classifications.
The Payroll Specialists will produce payroll reports for management as needed and will assist in any employee payroll discrepancies.
Responsibilities:
Receive payroll data from departments to calculate hours worked and review all information to confirm accuracy and prevent any discrepancies.
Accurately calculating and processing wages in accordance with prevailing wage laws.
Work with department managers to resolve any payment issues with employees.
Address issues with the Controller if required.
Update and confirm employee change request to implement payroll is processed correctly.
Make correct adjustments in pay for raises, bonuses and any other compensation that an employee might have.
Manage paid time off and leave tracking.
Make sure proper garnishments are input into the System to determine proper withholdings from employee wages according to state rules and garnishment types.
Document garnishment data with correct start and stop dates to make sure processing accordingly.
Ensure accurate tax deductions, and collaborate with HR regarding any benefits administration.
Any other responsibilities that might apply to the job.
Qualifications:
3
years of previous payroll experience preferably in a skilled trade environment or related industry.
Ability to process payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees including field employees and office personnel.
Knowledge of prevailing wage laws and processing accordingly.
Previous payroll processing experience with CMiC is preferred along with working knowledge with Excel is strongly recommended.
Attention to detail along with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
Knowledge of garnishments and benefits distribution.
The ability to work with a variety of employees and address issues as they arise.
